NCAA Bowl Betting Odds - Bet College Football Odds
Forty eight of the 65 teams in BCS conferences will play a I-AA opponent at some point in this season. Those games aren't of immediate interest to bettors since there are no lines on games with I-AA opponents, but they can have a major effect on the rest of the season. If a team has a close call, or a loss, against a I-AA opponent then their spread can be impacted in the next game.
Bettors are naturally going to overcompensate for a loss or a near loss against a I-AA opponent, which can set you up for an advantageous bet in the next game if you still believe in the major division opponent. It makes sense that the team that struggles with a I-AA opponent will bounce back well in their next game.
With all that in mind, here is a look at some of the upcoming matchups with I-AA teams that could provide a challenge for the major conference opponents and could provide betting knowledge and opportunities in the future. In every case the major conference team is unquestionably the better team, but that doesn't always matter on the football field:
2010 BCS Championship
Game
 |
The 2010 BCS Season Game will
take place January 7, 2010 at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena
, California. This will mark the fourth time under the new
system that a national champion team will be named for college
football as the result of a stand-alone game. |
After the four BCS bowl games are over the Rose Bowl, The Fiesta Bowl, The Sugar Bowl and The Orange Bowl, the BCS Championship game will be played. It will rotate around the four cities where those bowl games are played.
Who gets to play? It has nothing to do with which teams win the bowl games. The NCAA football teams that will meet in the BCS championship game are be the top two-ranked teams in the BCS standings, announced in early December.
The college regular season has all but ended, and all
we have left are the conference championship games. Of course, the
conference championship games are huge, especially the Big 12 and SEC
games, and will determine who plays in the BCS.
Over the course of the next week or so, all of the bowl slots will be
filled. Once that occurs, I will update the table below with all of
the matchups. Until then, here is the 2009 College Football Bowl
Schedule, complete with TV Listings. (ESPN has almost every bowl game,
and they just bid more than FOX for the rights to the BCS.)
